The International Academy of Gastronomy (A.I.G.) is a transnational network of men and women with a privileged interest in gastronomy.
Founded in 1983 by five national Academies of Gastronomy, representing five different countries (Spain, France, Britain, Italy and Switzerland), it can only include as members national or regional Academies of Gastronomy. Today A.I.G. is an international federation of Gastronomic Academies gathering about 10,000 individuals world-wide.

The goal of the International Academy of Gastronomy is to nurture and promote national and regional cooking cultures and culinary heritages all around the world, while encouraging creativity in contemporary cuisine.
A.I.G. investigates
The International Academy of Gastronomy investigates all matters related to gastronomy and nutrition at an international level. It provides advice and makes proposals to a variety of private and public organizations.
A world to promote
The International Academy of Gastronomy is involved in numerous cultural, educational and regulatory initiatives around the world to promote food heritage and local cuisines.
Scientific research
The International Academy of Gastronomy also helps disseminate scientific research demonstrating the specific qualities of food or ingredients that are part of the culinary heritage of different nations; it awards prizes and sponsors targeted events or studies.
