Here is a list of past and upcoming events organised or supported by the International Academy of Gastronomy (A.I.G.) or one of its Members.

Upcoming events

  • International Gastronomy Symposium 2026, 4-5 September 2026, Hong Kong, China.
    Hosted by the Chinese Gastronomy Associatio, this symposium will convene renowned gastronomes, leading scholars, chefs, industry practitioners and gastronomy enthusiasts from many countries, in collaboration with culinary cities across China. Centred on the theme Gastronomy & Health, the Symposium will focuses on three pillars — Gastronomy & Wellbeing, Gastronomy & Science, and Gastronomy & Local Branding — to address pressing challenges of the global culinary industry, build a high-level platform for international exchange, advance a two-way dialogue between Chinese cuisine going global and international experience coming in, and offer coordinated solutions for the industry’s transition toward health and brand.

Past events

  • Amazon International Gastronomy Symposium (SIGA), 28-29 Augus 2025, Beléem, Brazil.
    Hosted by the Brazilian Academy of Gastronomy together with the Pará Chamber of Commerce and the Federal University of Pará. The theme of the symposium was “Regional Gastronomy and Sustainability” with a particular emphasis on integrating gastronomy into broader discussions of biodiversity, sustainability, cultural heritage, and food systems research. The Belém symposium demonstrated the value of linking AIG-supported initiatives with regional research ecosystems and reinforced institutional cooperation between Brazilian universities and international academic partners. One of the main outcomes was the formulation of the “Letter from Belém”. 
  • Spain Gastronomy Conference, 27–29 March 2025, Madrid, Spain.
    Hosted by the Royal Spanish Gastronomic Academy, together with CEU San Pablo University. The theme of the conference was “Reframing Gastronomy” and the event governed over 180 participants from more than 15 countries, representing universities, research institutions and practitioners across the entire gastronomic value chain—from farm to table and from craft to industry.
  • Stockholm Gastronomy Conference, 23-25 November 2023, Stockholm, Sweden.
    Hosted by three Swedish Academies actively operating along the food value chain in collaboration with Stockholm University. This conference which purpose was to map out “the state of the art of gastronomy research” gathered approximately 250 participants from 23 countries.
  • 40th anniversary of the International Academy of Gastronomy, 18 November, Paris, France.
    With the support of its honorary partners Moutai and Laurent-Perrier, the International Academy of Gastronomy (A.I.G.) staged a remarkable international cultural exchange event – the A.I.G. Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony, a global initiative to recognise and reward excellence in the culinary industry. Seven internationally recognised Chefs cumulating 14 Michelin stars; 260 honorary guests from 19 countries, gastronomes and leaders from around the world.
